“Who are God’s people?”

I received a question, asking, “Who is God’s people?”  

This thought-provoking question hovers in the minds of many exJWs after experiencing the rude awakening that WT is not “the truth.”  This realization can be shocking, even soul jarring among people who maintained the long-held assumption that WT = truth.  After experiencing the awakening that the governing body, and by extension the organization they lead is not teaching truth, many wonder as this inquirer asked, “Who is God’s people?” Our answer, of course, is found in scripture, so please be sure to read all scriptures.  

Do you recall God’s people were chosen by Him to belong to Him as a special treasure/possession to keep all His commandments (Deut.7:6; 14:2; 26:18-19; Lev.20:26; Exod.19:5-6)? God’s ordinances, commands were to be carefully followed by His chosen people who were not to add or to be take away from His words (Deut.6:1-2; 10:12-14; 12:1,32; 4:1-2; Ezek.20:18-19). God said,

“Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel” (Exod.15:5-6). 

Priests in service to minister to God, as well as kings, was not of self-choice or to be a selection by human election, but by God who indicated His choice by directing anointing oil to be poured on their physical head (Exod.28:41; Lev.8:12; Exod.29:4-7; 30:30; 40:12-15; Num.3:3; Deut.17:14-20; 1 Sam.16:1,13; 10:1; 2 Kings 9:6).  The priest was divinely appointed with the responsibility to keep knowledge, and instruct - “For the lips of a priest should keep knowledge, And people should seek the law from his mouth; For he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts” (Mal.2:7).  

You are aware this is the pattern for the spiritual priesthood (Rev.5:8-10)?  
God’s people under the new covenant is the spiritual holy priesthood, still, God’s special possession, a holy nation, God’s spiritual house/household (Jer.31:31-33; Heb.8:7-13; 1 Pet.2:5,9; Mal.2:7; Heb.13:15).  The spiritual priesthood receives anointing by spiritual “oil,” Holy Spirit, a divine appointment and unforgettable experience of Spirit poured in the heart (2 Cor.1:21-22; Rom.5:5; 8:9; 2 Cor.5:17; 1 John 2:27). God calls to Himself people whom He chooses to anoint, to pour His love, His Spirit in their heart; each a “living stone” that builds His dwelling place in which He and His son, Jesus live in Spirit (1 John 4:8; John 4:24; 6:63; 2 Cor.5:17; Acts 2:39; 2 Cor.1:22; Rom.5:5; Eph.2:10; 1 Pet.2:9,5; Heb.13:15; Eph.2:19-22; 3:14-21; 1 Cor.3:16).  This is not of self-choice, nor do Spirit-anointed select others to be anointed or to act in the priestly capacity of an anointed as if in an employee/employer relationship, rather, God’s people are chosen by Him, and if faithful, Jesus will choose them to work in service to him to be a source of instruction to all who desire to come to know him and the Father (2 Cor.1:21-22; John 14:6; 15:16,9-10; 14:20-26,16-17; Jer.31:31-33; Rom.2:28-29; 1 Pet.2:5,9; 2 Cor.4:6; Mal.2:7; Rom.10:14-17; John 17:3,6-8; 2 Cor.3:16-18; John 17:22).  

God’s people, His faithful spiritual priesthood, yield to the Spirit - they do not teach according to the flesh, according to their own wisdom by using human ideas and reasoning (Jer.31:31,33-34; Rom.8:9-14; 1 Cor.2:1-4,10-16; 1:9-10).  Anointed manifest whether the Spirit abides within them by the teachings they offer (John 1:1,14; Eph.6:17; John 12:49; 15:1-5; Acts 4:19-20,29-31; Rom.10:8).  The knowledge of Jesus Christ that faithful Spirit-anointed provide by the Spirit of truth multiplies grace and peace, and gives eternal life (Acts 5:29; John 14:15; 6:68; 17:3; 14:6; 8:32; 2 Pet.1:2; 3:18; Rom.6:16-18,20-23; Hab.2:18-19; Zech.10:2; Jer.10:8; Prov.13:5; 1 Cor.10:14). You enter their house, their heart where the Spirit of God dwells, when you “eat” the fruit they produce by what they do, their deeds, written or spoken, for the power of God to heal spiritual sickness is by the Holy Spirit (2 Chron.7:17,14-16; Deut.28:1,9-10; 12:7-8,11,5; Prov.4:23; 1 Pet.2:5,9; 1 Cor.3:9,16;  Eph.3:14-17; Rom.5:5; Luke 6:45; Psalm 37:30-31; John 7:38; Isa.55:1; Acts 8:9-23). This is how you will be able to identify God’s people, by their fruit, what they teach, which is what they will be condemned or acquitted by (Matt.7:15-20; 12:33-37; Prov.18:20-21). You must “test all things” (1 Thess.5:20-21). 

Can it be more evident? The so-called anointed leaders of WT doctrine have told JWs they have NO Spirit (“we are not inspired” - yes, inspired means of Spirit), and still people trust in their claim to be Christs [which means anointed] (Luke 17:23; 21:8; 1 John 4:1; Mark 13:6; Matt.24:5,24; 7:15; John 4:24; Matt.15:9; Mark 7:7; Acts 4:12; 2 Tim.2:16,19; 1 Tim.4:1).  WT’s fragile, flip-flopping, expired, and list of failed prophecies are screaming they teach man-made doctrine, that they are a false prophet teaching doctrines of demons, and yet people trust them when they assert their teachings come directly from God to Jesus to them (Deut.18:20-22; Matt.15:9; 1 Tim.4:1).  Moreover, these leaders of WT and their image (not-anointed elders who they gave authority to act in the teaching capacity of spiritual priests) have fashioned an idol - WT - a shiny “golden calf,” a beast that JWs adore and promote as a place to worship God (John 4:24; Exod.32:8-9; Acts 7:48-51; 17:24; Isa.66:1; Num.18:7; Rom.1:25; John 8:44; Rev.13:4). You must “test all things” (1 Thess.5:20-21; 1 John 4:1)using scripture, because you will see they speak deceit. They are wicked. 

Psalm 50:16, ‘But to the wicked God says:
“What right
“What right have you to declare My statutes,
Or take My covenant in your mouth,

Rev.14:9, “Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”
Rev.18:3, “For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.”
4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.

Jer.51:36, “Therefore thus says the Lord:
“Behold, I will plead your case and take vengeance for you.
I will dry up her sea and make her springs dry.

A dwelling place for jackals,
An astonishment and a hissing,
Without an inhabitant.
38 They shall roar together like lions,
They shall growl like lions’ whelps.
